Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure

The committee reports to the senate developments in the areas of academic freedom and tenure. It investigates alleged infringements upon the academic freedom or tenure of faculty members and reports to the senate. It hears cases and makes recommendations to the president involving faculty complaints of discrimination; procedural irregularity in connection with a decision to deny tenure, promotion, or renewal of a contract; and denial of academic freedom. Members of the committee are elected from the Academic Assembly. (Three-year terms.)
