The committee makes recommendations to the executive vice president and university provost regarding policies and procedures governing academic professionals for performance review, salary adjustments, retention, advancement/promotion, and dismissal. The committee is responsible to the executive vice president and university provost. Members are elected by the academic professionals. The committee shall have six members with staggered three-year terms and two alternates who shall serve a one-year term. At any time, the committee shall have only one member from any academic unit, except that the larger colleges/units may have up to two members. To be eligible, academic professionals must have at least three years of service at Arizona State University. No more than one individual on a year-to-year appointment shall serve on the committee at any time. No person shall serve concurrently on the committee and the Academic Professional Grievance Committee or other elected university-level academic professional standing committees. No person may serve two successive terms on the committee; a minimum of a one-year hiatus is required. Web site: CAPS
