The committee hears complaints alleging unfair treatment because of absence or misinterpretation, misapplication, or violation of policies or procedures. Annually, it reports its recommendations in writing on all cases considered that year to the senate president and the university president. Members of the committee are elected from the Academic Assembly. (Three-year terms.)
