Cross-listed Courses
A cross-listed course may have more than one course prefix/number and may be offered by more than one instruction unit. The following rules apply to cross-listed courses:
- Permanent courses cannot be cross listed to omnibus courses (and vice versa).
- Cross-listed courses cannot exist within the same subject.
- Cross-listed courses must match in every way except for subject and number; subjects cannot match; numbers can match (but not necessary to match).
- Cross-listed courses must match in number at the same level (e.g., lower-division with lower-division and upper-division with upper-division courses).
Cross-listed courses are assigned a course equivalency number and students will get credit for only one course in the pair or group of cross-listed courses.
If a cross-listing is being added, changed, or deleted, you must verify the ACRES request with the cross-listed department(s). The representative from each cross-listed department can log in to ACRES and submit a comment verifying that the review has been completed and that there are no objections.
