Under the leadership of President Michael Crow, ASU is building a new model for an American research university, one that measures its academic quality by the education that its graduates have received rather than the academic credentials of its incoming students; one at which researchers, while pursuing their scholarly interests, also consider the public good; and one whose faculty expands the concept of community service, accepting major responsibility for the health, economic, and social development of its community. The new Dean of the College of Nursing will play a significant role in shaping the university’s health education agenda.
