Program Fees—Intent to Propose
Proposals for program fees can only be submitted by deans.  Notice of intention to propose a fee is due to the Office of the Provost on July 17. The provost’s office will respond with feedback. 

August 14

Post-Tenure Review Reports from the College
Due in the Office of the Exec. Vice President and Univ. Provost.

September 14

President’s Professor 2009 Nominations Due
Nominations are due from deans to the office of the Provost.  The nomination form is available online.

September 18

Program Fees—Full Proposals
Proposals for program fees can only be submitted by deans. Full fee proposals are due September 18, including responses to specific feedback, student input, market analysis, and other information required by the Board of Regents. 

October 1

Textbook Ordering for Spring 2010
The Arizona Board of Regents is continuing to monitor the universities’ efforts to reduce textbook prices. Please submit textbook orders by October 1 for spring 2010. The deadlines for textbook orders are in ACD policy 305-05.

December 15

Sabbatical Leaves effective 2010-11 (Faculty and Academic Professionals)
Notification deadline by deans.

December 15

All Promotion, Continuing Appointment, and Tenure Recommendations
Due in the Office of the Exec. Vice President and Univ. Provost

Sabbatical Leaves effective 2010-11 (Faculty and Academic Professionals)
Please send a list of the approved sabbatical leaves identifying the applicant, department, contract status (academic or fiscal), and the period of the sabbatical leave (fall, spring, AY, FY) to the office of the Provost by January 4. Be sure to include the names of those who deferred their sabbaticals from the previous year.

Textbook Ordering for Summer 2010
The Arizona Board of Regents is continuing to monitor the universities’ efforts to reduce textbook prices. Please submit textbook orders by March 1 for summer 2010. The deadlines for textbook orders are in ACD policy 305-05

Evaluation of Probationary Faculty and Academic Professionals (including any recommendations for May 15, 2010 terminations)
Due in Office of the Exec. Vice President and Univ. Provost: 1. a listing of all probationary reviews with final decision from the dean for regular contracts or conditional contracts (include conditions) for 2010/11; attach to this listing a copy of the dean’s notification letter to the successful candidate and the signed original Request for Academic Personnel Action (APA) form, and 2. the complete files for any candidates who are recommended for a terminal contract for 2010/11. A reminder: Do not distribute the notification letters to the candidates until all terminal reviews for your college have been completed by the Provost—notifying all candidates at the same time.

March 1 Review for Renewal and/or Promotion of Multi-Year Academic Professionals, Clinical Faculty, Lecturers/Senior Lecturers/Principal Lecturers, Professors of Practice and Research Faculty
Due in the Office of the Exec. Vice President and Univ. Provost: 1. a listing of all multi-year reviews with a copy of the dean's letter and a signed original Request for Academic Personnel Action (APA) form of the final decision on renewals for the next multi-year term: 2. the files for any candidates who are recommended for promotion or non-renewal.

Due in deans' offices.

Emeritus Status
Written notification is due to the Office of the Provost on April 2.  Tenured faculty and academic professionals with continuing status who retire are recommended for emeritus status which must be approved by the President. Written notification of the retirement date and recommendation to the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost initiates this process.

Review for Renewal and/or Promotion of Multi-Year Academic Professionalsm /clinical Faculty, Lecturers/Senior Lecturers/Principal Lecturers, Professors of Practice and Research Faculty
Notification deadline to candidates regarding action on renewal and/or promotion requests.

April 10

CASE/Carnegie Foundation U.S. Professor of the Year
Nominations for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching/Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) U.S. Professor of the Year award are due about April 10, 2010. Updated information will be available at CASE/Carnegie Foundation Web site later in the academic year. Nominations should be sent to Vice President for Academic Personnel Mark Searle in the office of the Provost with the complete package requested by the organization.

April 15

Evaluation of Conditional Contracts for the Current Year
Recommendation for Termination is due in office of the Provost on April 15.

April 16

Evaluation of Probationary Faculty and Academic Professionals (including any recommendations for May 15, 2010 termiantions)
Notification deadline for terminations effective May 15, 2010 (for faculty member in the first or second year of employment with ASU); or 2011 (for those who have served more than two years as they are given a terminal contract year).

April 30

Evaluation of Conditional Contracts for the Current Year
Notification of decision.
