The board is advisory to the president. It is a fact-finding board for written complaints that allege discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, Vietnam-era veteran status or special disabled veteran status in employment or in educational programs or activities. The board is appointed by and responsible to the president. Student members are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the vice president for student affairs. (Three-year terms.)
