Promotion Review for Multi-Year Academic Professionals, Clinical Faculty, Lecturers, Research Faculty and Professors of Practice
Note: this also applies to a one-year appointment in the categories listed above applying for promotion.
The candidate should provide the following material for review (unit or college criteria may require other review material):
- Table of contents.
- A current curriculum vitae.
- Self-assessment/goal statement (up to four pages in length).
- Summary of job or teaching effectiveness, including both student and peer evaluations.
- Supplemental materials (e.g., publications or other pertinent information).
The unit/college personnel committee(s), unit head and dean write recommendation letters summarizing position and/or teaching effectiveness.
The dean forwards the following information to the Vice President of Academic Personnel:
- A list of all (multi-year) academic professionals, clinical faculty, lecturers, research faculty, and/or professors of practice in the college, by academic unit, who are currently being reviewed.
- A Request for Academic Personnel Action form for each promotion case being considered (see: http://provost.asu.edu/forms).
- The candidate’s review material (see list above).
- All unit/college recommendation letters.
- Current copies of the unit’s and college’s promotion review criteria.
