Each year, ASU hosts the New Faculty Orientation for newly-hired tenured and tenure-track faculty members, who will receive invitations in July. President Michael Crow and Provost Nancy Gonzales will attend. This orientation will provide an introduction to the university at large and will complement college orientations held separately. Deans, chairs, and directors will be invited later, in August, if their academic unit is welcoming new tenured or tenure-track faculty members.
The 2024 ASU New Faculty Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Deans, chairs, and directors of the new faculty members will be invited to join their new faculty in the lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Please note: since this is already a large meeting, we cannot invite every administrator we’d like to. However, for example, if a dean cannot attend, he/she can appoint an associate dean to attend in his/her stead. This event is by invitation only and will come in the form of an email from Vice Provost Patricia Friedrich addressed directly to the person being invited. All attendees must register for the event.
