Matthew Hoober has always loved learning. His mother was a first grade teacher and his father was a museum director, so from a young age, he knew he wanted to pursue a college degree just like them.

Plenty of students at Arizona State University go above and beyond what is expected of them in pursuing excellence through their studies, but few can come close to Elisa Cardamone's recent accomplishment.

Representation matters a great deal when it comes to culture. When groups don't get the attention they deserve or need, it can lead to them being forgotten or disregarded, such as women in professional sports.

Arizona State University alumna Tiffany Schwartz believes countries should become more interconnected with each other rather than isolated. Creating a career path toward this goal has kept her open-minded, determined and moving forward.

From a young age, Schwartz moved around the country living in places such as Tacoma, Washington, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, made her fall in love with the Southwest and she made her way to ASU on a scholarship to begin studying psychology with the full support of her family.

Arizona State University offers a variety of accelerated programs allowing students to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in as little as five years.

The School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies has partnered with Thunderbird School of Global Management to offer a new 4+1 program allowing students to receive an undergraduate degree in a humanities-related field and a graduate degree in global management. 

On Monday, May 11, The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University will recognize its highest achieving students from the social sciences, natural sciences and humanities at the 2020 virtual convocation ceremony.

Each department and school within The College has selected an outstanding student who has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to academic excellence during their time at ASU. These students will be awarded a prestigious Dean’s Medal in honor of their scholastic achievements.

On Dec. 17, The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University will celebrate academic excellence in the social sciences, natural sciences and humanities during its fall 2019 convocation ceremony.

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is the largest and most diverse academic unit at Arizona State University. With 23 field-spanning departments and schools, its courses delve into everything from how civilizations deal with disasters and construct legends to the chemistry of human emotions and the cultural significance American Indian film.
