Rachel Welshans grew up in Bisbee, a small town in southern Arizona with a long history of mining. Although she has lived in Tucson for nearly two decades, she still considers Bisbee to be her hometown and the place she has many connections to.
Viridiana Benitez – a daughter of immigrants, an English-as-a-second-language learner and a first-generation college student – knows firsthand what it’s like to overcome challenges in academia. Now, the Arizona State University assistant professor is aiming to help current college students in their own higher education journeys.

NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance rover has snapped over 200,000 images since it landed on Mars in February 2021. The rover is equipped with 23 cameras, and two of the largest and most capable are the Mastcam-Z cameras.
