What makes LEAD unique?

The LEAD program provides a learning environment with about 20-40 students in each cohort, a term used to define a set of classes with the same group of students. The cohort model provides an oppurtunity for you to build a community with your classmates as well as with your professors. The smaller class size promotes higher learning, retention, study groups, and support for one another through your first year at ASU.

The LEAD program allows you to complete courses needed within your major while providing you with the necessary skills to be successful at ASU and beyond. You will apply the professional skills in the classroom by learning to work in groups, conducting undergraduate research, and developing a higher level of critical thinking and effective writing

Skills you will gain from the courses are listed below:

  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Presentation Skills
  • Team Building
  • Time Management
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Stress Management
  • Mindset
  • Expressive Writing
