Academic College Highlight: College of Integrated Sciences and Arts

The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts is a hub for applied learning. You’ll find many dimensions of experiential learning — from coursework that emphasizes real-life scenarios, and involvement with faculty research, to field experiences, service and internships in the community.

On any given day you might find CISA students observing wild horses, birds or habitat along the Salt River; taking data on lizards and burrowing owls at the Polytechnic campus; or helping grow produce for residential dining halls using new research in vertical farming; they might be producing a podcast or interning with Phoenix non-profits; running a crisis simulation; or contributing to every kind of organization you can imagine as interns locally or abroad.
It’s an exciting space of creativity, innovation and diversity,” notes Dean Joanna Grabski, who joined CISA as dean July 1, 2021 after serving as director of ASU’s School of Art. “CISA is a space where we’re incredibly agile and try new things out, and if it doesn’t work out we try differently. It’s a place where you can #BeIntegrative, with other schools at ASU and within the greater community and world.”

The smallest of ASU’s three liberal arts colleges, we deeply embody the ASU Charter’s commitment to access and success. We offer degree programs at 11 geographic locations and online. Our academic options require no additional kind of application and are designed to give you the opportunity to gain breadth of knowledge while you also focus on what you love most as you prepare for the world of work and success in life.

With so many possible pathways, locations and options, and an incredibly supportive team of professional academic advisors and faculty and staff, CISA is absolutely the place where any student can reach their educational goals – and can choose the learning environment that best suits their style: the small-town atmosphere of Polytechnic campus, the college-town electricity of Tempe campus; the exciting urban vibe of Downtown Phoenix campus; the chill atmosphere of the Colleges at Lake Havasu City; or the closer-to-home options with community college  partners throughout the region and through ASU Online and ASU Local @ Los Angeles.

Our Transfer Student Ambassadors Are Getting Ready!

We are excited to announce that our newest Transfer Student Ambassador team members are gearing up for the new school year and getting ready to support your transfer students on their journey to ASU. Transfer Student Ambassadors are current students who are here to assist your students as they transition to the university. They can help students get signed up for a pathway to ASU , and offer insight about getting involved, making friends and what students can expect on a typical day as a Sun Devil. Keep an eye out for an introduction to our newest team members, and please encourage your students to reach out to our TSAs for that special peer-to-peer support!

Thank you for all you do to assist students in transferring to ASU.

Arizona State University welcomes and values the diversity and life experiences of transfer students. We offer hundreds of degree programs and a comprehensive, responsive network of academic, financial and social opportunities designed for the success of all students.
