How ASU is breaking down barriers for transfer student success, a new webinar for prospective partners!

Recently, the Community College Research Center shared their most recent analysis on the world of transfer student success. According to their findings, only 16% of transfer students nationwide earn a bachelor's degree within six years, a statistic that has seen little improvement since 2007. That’s why Academic Alliances is changing the way students are supported at their community college before they transfer. Our data demonstrates that students who engage with our MyPath2ASU resources experience a more successful transfer, boasting higher first-term GPAs and better graduation rates compared to students from non-partner institutions.

Program Manager Patrick Emmons will be hosting webinars every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout March to provide community colleges the opportunity to learn about ASU’s innovative approach to transfer solutions, and how we can collaborate with your community college through our Universal Articulation Agreements and our MyPath2ASU pathway tool. Patrick will also be available to meet 1:1 if you cannot make a webinar time and would like to learn more!

Get ahead one class at a time this summer

Did you know students can get ahead towards earning credits for their bachelor degrees by registering for ASU’s summer sessions? Community college students, including those on a MyPath2ASU transfer pathway as well as visiting students, can complete a course in only six weeks. Plus, there are multiple sessions to choose from and are offered both in person and online.

Be sure to let your students know that summer registration is now open. Sessions begin May 16 and July 1, 2024. Whether wanting to accelerate their progress, catch up on courses they may have missed, or just to lighten their course load for the fall semester, ASU’s summer classes offer something for everyone. And if they aren’t yet on a transfer pathway, this would be a great time to sign up for MyPath2ASU to begin tracking their progress as they continue earning credits.

Students, get started and enroll in a class that works with your schedule!

Virtual programing for transfer students

Transfer students have a diverse array of live-hosted virtual programming options to support them in their journey to ASU. Students can choose from sessions hosted by enrollment and academic specialists, including topics ranging from the transfer admission process and resources, MyPath2ASU , steps to apply, financial aid and scholarships, and more. There are even college-specific sessions and virtual tours of ASU’s unique campuses throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

Plus, our very own transfer student ambassadors host their own peer-to-peer workshop the first Friday of each month from 11 a.m. to noon. These Fun Friday webinars are available to both MyPath2ASU students as well as prospective transfer students looking to learn more. This is a great opportunity to connect with former community college students who have completed the transfer journey to ASU. They’ll share helpful tips and advice, things they’ve learned along the way, the benefits of signing up for MyPath2ASU, and personal anecdotes in a fun and festive session.

We invite you to share these fantastic resources with your colleagues and students!
