FAQ (For Maricopa advisors)

FAQ (For Maricopa advisors) - MAPP/MyPath2ASU to MyPath2ASU Transition

Q - What is changing with MAPP (Maricopa-ASU Pathways Program)?

A - Maricopa’s transfer pathway guides to ASU (MAPPs) have been moved into MyPath2ASU. The previous MAPP technology limited the ability for Maricopa’s associate degrees to be paired with ASU bachelor’s degrees. Now students planning to transfer into any of the 400+ of ASU’s degree programs are able to sign up for MyPath2ASU. Students who sign up for a 2022-2023 (or later pathway) will no longer receive a Pathway Tracker. Maricopa students can explore pathways in MyPath2ASU, and once they have signed up for MyPath2ASU and "favorited" their pathway, they can login anytime to see their transfer requirements

Q - Is the MAPP going away?

A - The pathways are still accessible, but the name has changed from MAPP to MyPath2ASU. The pathways look different because they now follow the same semester-by-semester sequence as ASU’s major maps. Students still sign up at https://mapp.maricopa.edu . If they go through the Maricopa-ASU Pathway website to sign up, they are directed to the Maricopa sign-up page

Q - How can I see which classes a student should take before transferring to ASU?

A - Pathway Agreements for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years remain available on the Maricopa-ASU Pathway website. For the 2022-2023 academic year and future academic years, you and your students can view pathway requirements in MyPath2ASU

Q - Why is this change necessary?

A - The previous MAPP pathway limited the ability for Maricopa associate degrees to be paired with ASU bachelor’s degrees and could access only 300 majors. Now students working toward 400+ ASU majors are able to sign up for MyPath2ASU. Over the last four years, Maricopa and ASU have partnered to support the guided pathway initiative so students will have a better understanding of their associate degree requirements and how they will fulfill ASU's major requirements.

Q - How will the transition affect students?

A - Students are still guaranteed general admission to ASU and to their  MyPath2ASU major of choice if all requirements are satisfied. (Some majors have higher admission requirements which are located at the top of each MyPath2ASU). They will still receive communication and invitations from ASU and follow a clear and efficient pathway to a bachelor’s degree. Students who sign up for a 2022-2023 or later pathway will no longer receive a Pathway Tracker. Maricopa students can view their requirements by pairing an ASU major and Maricopa college (or MCCCD) in MyPath2ASU. Once they have signed up for MyPath2ASU and "favorited" their pathway, they can login anytime to see their transfer requirements

Q - How do students sign up for MyPath2ASU?

A - Students still sign up at https://mapp.maricopa.edu .They will receive an email from ASU with their ASURITE ID to access their pathway..  If they go through ASU’s admissions web page for Maricopa to sign up, they are directed to the Maricopa sign-up page
