Transfer Student Spotlight: Jennifer Sazo

Meet Jennifer Sazo, a proud first-generation college student and daughter of Mexican immigrants, whose resilience and determination have fueled her educational journey.

“As a daughter of Mexican immigrants, I am inspired by my family and especially my mother,” Jennifer shared. “She made many sacrifices in order for my sisters and I to have a better future. Her struggle and resilience is not lost upon me, and has motivated me to become a first-generation college graduate.”

Jennifer’s story is one of perseverance and passion. After transferring from Riverside City College, she set her sights on earning a Bachelor of Arts in Film from Arizona State University’s The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Guided by her lifelong dream of working in the film and media industry, she began her ASU journey in Summer 2024 and is on track to graduate in Fall 2025.
