The board is a hearing and appellate board for alleged student violations of the Student Code of Conduct. It recommends appropriate sanctions that are advisory and subject to the approval of the president. The board is appointed by and responsible to the senior vice president for Educational Outreach and Student Initiatives. Appointments are for a two-year period. Student members are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the senior vice president for Educational Outreach and Student Services.

Admissions Appeal Committee

This is a decision-making board for undergraduate applicants denied admission or readmission to the university and is advisory to the vice provost for enrollment management on undergraduate admissions policies and procedures. The board is appointed by and responsible to the vice provost for enrollment management for multiyear terms.

Members of the board include the dean of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication or a representative, and the senior vice president for educational outreach and student services or a representative. Two journalism faculty members will serve on the board, as well as three professionals in journalism, media, or business.

This is a decision-making board authorized by the Arizona Board of Regents to hear appeals on parking appeals officers’ decisions regarding sanctions for parking and bicycle violations. The board is appointed by and responsible to the associate vice president for university business services. Student members are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the vice president for university and student initiatives.

Memorial Union Advisory Board

The mission of the Memorial Union Advisory Board (MUAB) is to formulate, initiate, and review Memorial Union policies and practices including budget, marketing, food service, facilities, programming, and planning. The MUAB will make recommendations to the senior vice president for educational outreach and student services and Memorial Union on behalf of and inclusive of ASU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community, while fully supporting the missions of the MU and ASU and assessing the needs of the community.

Library Appeals Board

This is a decision-making board that is constituted and meets as needed to hear appeals on decisions made by the ASU Libraries administrative appeals officer. When needed, the board is constituted from faculty, staff, and student representatives, who are appointed by and responsible to the University Librarian. When needed, student members are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the vice president for university and student initiatives. All members have one-year terms. Employees of campus libraries are ineligible to serve on this board.

Sun Devil Athletics Board

The board is advisory to the president on policies, programs and other matters pertaining to intercollegiate athletics. The board, comprised of faculty and student members, is appointed by and responsible to the president (three year terms). Two student members are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the senior vice president for university student initiatives, and two student-athlete members are selected by the Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

The committee assures the senior vice president for the Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development (OKED) adequate protection of human subjects’ rights and welfare in accordance with federal guidelines by reviewing all research projects involving human subjects prior to the initiation of data collection and by monitoring as required. The committee is appointed by and responsible to the director of the Office of Research  Integrity and Assurance, who serves as the institutional official.
