National Transfer Week at ASU
ASU’s National Transfer Week took place Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25, 2024! The theme: Transfer Success through Access and Excellence: Breaking Down Barriers through Partnership.
The week-long series of virtual events is designed for community college staff and faculty who work with transfer students. Monday, October 21, 2024
Dr. Lisa Rae Armour serves as the executive vice chancellor and provost of the Maricopa County Community College District, a position she assumed in December 2023. Her extensive experience in academic and student affairs is rooted in her previous leadership roles at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, including as vice president for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning and interim provost and vice president of Academic Affairs.
Dr. Armour's approach to education is characterized by her commitment to academic excellence and student success. She has been a transformative leader, dedicated to meeting students where they are and fostering the conditions necessary for their success. Her background includes serving as a professor of mathematics and dean at Valencia College, where she significantly contributed to faculty development and innovative teaching practices.
With a doctorate in industrial engineering from the University of Central Florida and degrees in mathematics from Rollins College and the University of Florida, Dr. Armour combines her expertise in design thinking and problem-solving to lead MCCCD's strategic initiatives. As provost of MCCCD, Dr. Armour champions the district's vision of opportunity, equity and excellence in education, fostering a learning environment that supports diverse student needs and institutional goals.
Arizona State University supports international transfer students with a team of dedicated transfer recruitment counselors who work exclusively with global transfer students. The university welcomes international transfer students from 64 countries, six continents and 197 different institutions.

Dr. Brian King serves as the chancellor of the Los Rios Community College District in California. Since his appointment as chancellor, Dr. King has overseen the opening of two educational outreach centers, the establishment of the Los Rios Promise program to knock down financial barriers for students, the implementation of the Guided Pathways across the four Los Rios colleges, and more.
