A Model of Success with MyPath2ASU™

Academic Alliances is excited to announce that our pathway solutions for transfer students, known as MyPath2ASU™ , has successfully launched! Combining technology with curriculum and more than 400 immersion or online pathways to Arizona State University, MyPath2ASU™ supports transfer students on their journey to completing their bachelor’s degree at ASU. While our collaboration and core functionality of features within ASU's Transfer Guide will stay intact, your transfer students will now have access to enhanced tools and better brand recognition for meaningful engagement and transition to ASU.

By selecting an ASU major and transfer institution, MyPath2ASU™ will outline a list of courses that can be completed before transferring to ASU — helping students take the right courses at their transfer institution for their ASU degree. MyPath2ASU™ minimizes loss of credit, saves students time and money by providing a customized platform of self-help tools to customize their path toward degree completion, and enables real-time academic progress tracking. The connected navigation experience includes meaningful support by meeting students wherever they are in their learning journey.

Learn more about our transfer navigation solution available on day one of your student’s academic endeavors.

Creating Clear Pathways to Degrees: "The Corona Swirl"

Academic Alliances Vice Provost Cheryl Hyman and former Academic Partnerships Vice Provost Dr. Maria Hesse recently co-authored an article with other members of the National Transfer Policy Advisory Board addressing the shift towards community colleges during this time of Covid-19 and economic uncertainty.

As Higher Education Faces a “Corona Swirl” of Transfer Students, Higher Education Must Create Clear Pathways to Degrees looks at the relational concerns of transfer between two-year and four-year enrollment and identifies four ways to “end the transfer swirl and ensure community colleges serve as an affordable and accessible gateway to higher education, providing economic mobility to low-income students and students of color.” These include the following strategies:

·         Mapping pathways with career goals in mind

·         Reviewing and redefining transfer policies

·         Deploying responsive, personalized advising

·         Funding innovation

Read more about the “corona swirl,” the adverse effects of this movement between two- and four-year colleges (particularly among low income and students of color), and strategies for ensuring transfer student success.

In the Spotlight: W. P. Carey School of Business

As one of the top business schools in the country, ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business delivers excellent quality at a great value. Highly ranked for academics, groundbreaking research and student outcomes, the W. P. Carey School is committed to building a tight-knit community for their students. Through small classes, team-based learning, and individual attention every step of the way, students’ W. P. Carey experience is uniquely their own!

Community college students working towards completing either their Associate degree or Associate of Business degree are highly encouraged to sign up for MyPath2ASU™ for one of the schools’ BA or BS degree programs. When applying for admission, transfer applicants must select a second ASU major choice outside of the W. P. Carey School of Business, due to the W. P. Carey requirement of a 3.00 cumulative transfer GPA for all transferable coursework accepted by ASU. For a complete listing of transfer admission requirements for both their BA and BS degree programs, we invite your students to review their admission requirements and explore their undergraduate degree programs. Students are also invited to schedule an appointment with an admissions coordinator by emailing wpcadmissions@asu.edu or calling 480-965-5187 to learn more.

Staff within the school want to make transferring as smooth as possible. The W. P. Carey School of Business will work with your students early in the application process to ensure they are prepared to apply, become familiar with the ASU environment, and learn about the campus resources. In addition, ASU offers many tools and resources to help students make the most of their earned credits, apply for financial aid, and more. Plus, with their calendar of events continuously updated, your transfer students have the opportunity to build their bridge to the college while still working towards their associate degree.

Talking to a current student is one of the best ways your students can learn more about their future at the W. P. Carey School of Business. In fact, there’s a group of W. P. Carey students dedicated to helping you do just that. Your students can rely on Business Ambassadors to answer their questions about the admission process, student life, and everything in between — drop us a line to get started.
