Arizona State University has been continuously accredited since 1931, with the most recent review by the Higher Learning Commission in 2023, to award baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, associate, and professional degrees. The most recent review took place in 2022-23 with the next review scheduled for 2032-33.
ASU is reviewed through the HLC Open Pathway process which follows a 10-year cycle and is intended to assure quality and continuous improvement. The process includes an Assurance Review in year 4, a Quality Initiative in years 5 through 9 and a Comprehensive Evaluation for reaffirmation in year 10.
2023 Reaffirmation of Accreditation
Arizona State University participated in a comprehensive review visit by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in April 2023. The purpose of the site visit was for a team of peer reviewers to meet with multiple areas of the university to verify that ASU continues to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation. In July 2023, ASU received a reaffirmation of accreditation from HLC.
