HLC Institutional Accreditation

Arizona State University is accredited, most recently in 2013, by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to award baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, and professional degrees.

ASU is reviewed through the HLC Open Pathway process which follows a 10-year cycle and is intended to assure quality and continuous improvement. The process includes a quality initiative in years 5 through 9 and a comprehensive evaluation in year 10.

 Comprehensive Review

Arizona State University is looking forward to the upcoming on-site visit by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) in April 2023. The purpose of the site visit is for a team of peer reviewers to meet with multiple areas of the university to verify that ASU is continuing to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation. This part of HLC’s Comprehensive Evaluation is one of the culminating features of the 10-year cycle of accreditation review.
