ASU Charter Professor Award 2026 Unit Nomination Information
About the Charter Professor Awards
The Charter Professor award title is a distinguished temporary credential to recognize a faculty member whose record reflects a commitment to ASU’s charter: inclusion and success, research of public value, and assuming responsibility for the well-being of the community.
Each year, Deans can nominate up to two faculty members (one tenure-eligible and one career track) from their respective colleges, whose record reflects a commitment to ASU’s Charter.
Each nominee provides a narrative describing their efforts in advancing the ASU charter as well as a concrete plan or project to be realized during the three-year period of the charter award (see specific requirements below). The award recognizes the close engagement of a faculty member with issues relevant to ASU and its charter during the period of their project.
Each Charter Faculty Member will be named to a three-year term, and $5000 will be added to their base salaries. Each year of the award period, the Charter faculty member will be provided with an additional $10,000 to be used to further their charter initiatives.
